NOSB Fall 2025 Meeting Cancelled

The USDA National Organic Program (NOP) has cancelled the Fall 2025 National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) meeting and public comment webinars, originally scheduled for November 4–6 in Omaha, NE. Earlier this month, before NOP staff were furloughed due to the federal government shutdown, contingency plans were issued that cancelled the meeting if staff were not back in the office by October 22.

The last time a government shutdown cancelled an NOSB meeting was in 2013.  In that year, the fall meeting was not rescheduled and the agenda was rolled into the following spring. Current contingency plans do not indicate whether the Fall 2025 agenda will be rescheduled or carried forward to the next meeting.  USDA has not yet announced dates for the Spring 2026 NOSB meeting.

Prior to the cancellation of the meeting, OTA submitted extensive comments to the Board regarding its Fall agenda. OTA’s comments and our At-A-Glance meeting overview are available on our Fall 2025 NOSB Meeting page.
