National Organic Standards Board Fall Meeting 2022

National Organic Standards Board Fall Meeting 2022

Comment Period Open through September 29, 2022

The National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) generally meets twice each year in a public forum to discuss and vote on recommendations to the USDA. These recommendations help the Department develop and refine the organic standards.

The NOSB will meet in Sacramento, California in October 2022. The in-person meeting will be webcast live for those who are not able to travel. Should circumstances not permit an in-person meeting, the meeting will be held virtually. Updates will be posted to the meeting webpage at the link below.

NOSB Public Comment Webinars (two days)

  • October 18 & 20, 2022; Noon - 5:00 pm Eastern Time

NOSB Public Meeting (three days)

  • October 25 - 27, 2022; 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Pacific Time

Stakeholder Engagement Encouraged

The NOSB invites public comment, both written and oral, on its agenda topics. Interested parties are encouraged to review the online meeting materials, including the tentative agenda, subcommittee proposals, and discussion documents.

Deadlines: To be considered during the Fall 2022 Meeting, written comments must be received by 11:59 pm ET on Thursday, September 29, 2022. This gives the Board time to review the comments before the meeting.

Oral comment registration will open in late August when the agenda and proposals are posted. Oral comment speaking slots may fill up quickly, so we encourage you to keep an eye on the NOSB Fall 2022 Meeting webpage. We will send another Organic Insider once Board materials are posted and registration opens.
